Apology letter to custoemer

I have been tasked to write an apology letter to a potential customer for a refund on his rental car that he never received. He was told that he would get it immediately and unfortunately never did. I personally took care of this after I found out. I wanted to follow up with a short note to let recognize the mistake and assure him of my diligence to earn his business.
