i would say " to show" my remorse instead of "to prove".

Probably too late to comment on this post but when writing a letter to the Magistrate it always needs to be addressed this way:

To the Presiding Magistrate
xxxxx (where court case is being heard) Magistrates Court

Your Honour,

Letters are also required to be signed and dated by yourself. Try keep to 1 page as if it is any longer the magistrate may not h
