0 i was sentenced to write an apology letter to a company where i wrote a check in my grandmothers name a year ago.... i know i know............. i was curious if you could look it over and tell me if this is okay, i've never had to do this before so i'm not entirely sure what to write. thank you!!02br02br00To Whom It May Concern:02br02br00Please accept my most sincere apology for my behavior last February. Since then i have had plenty of time to think long and hard about what had happened and what I have done. I know I should have gone about things differently, and handled the events that were going on better.  I have realized how wrong I was in purchasing the ticket with my grandmothers check.  Maybe you do unthinkable things when you are in love and trying to salvage any hope that there may be in the relationship. I do admit that I was in the wrong, and can only say how truly sorry I am. I can promise you that I will never do this again, I do wish that there was a way to make it up to you other than just restitution.  I am extremely ashamed and remorseful of my actions. That is a nice letter. You cover most of the basics of an effective apology.

The only weak part of your apology is when you write "Maybe we do unthinkable things when we are in love and trying to salvage the relationship."
It would be more effective if you said "What I did was unthinkable and wrong. I acted regrettably in the hopes of salvaging a relationship and there is no excuse for that."

Hi Anon,
It was nice of you to put the time into correcting this letter, but it was posted 2 1/2 years ago - the original poster no doubt had to submit his/her letter a long, long time ago. We always need people to review and correct essays, so we're glad to have help in that - but please look for ones that are recent and without replies. Thanks.
