(1) I understand that "apiary" is rather a formal term? (2) I have found a less formal alternative ("beeyard") in an online Webster. Looks like this term is quite common in NAmerica... but not sure if it is also used in the UK/Australia/NZ/SAfrica?
Perhaps there is a third term that is actually more common than apiary and beeyard (and more universal than the latter, too)?
