"apart" in phrasal verb

I was thinking about phrasal verbs that is made of a verb plus "apart".
Well, meaning of apart is obvious. I found that it can have two meanings: (1) distinguish and separating (only for countable things), and (2) collapsing (for an object or group of things that can be assumed as a unit).

(1)
Drift apart
Grow apart
Pull apart
Set apart
Tell apart

(2)
Come apart
Fall apart
Pull apart
Take apart
Tear apart
