Question

If I am writing an entire Chapter of my thesis as a book review how to I cite this appropriately for the APA style?

Hi,

I don't know where to find the official style sheet for the APA, but nowadays I simply use the built-in citation manager of my word processor. All you have to do is fill out a sheet and select the right source type and citation style. Your sources and bibliography will then automatically be displayed as foot and end notes.

As far as I know, this is not APA style (but I admit to being more familiar with the Harvard system).
When you use the APA referencing system, you don't put footnotes or end notes. You need to cite the surname of the author(s) and the year of the publication in the main text (either in the sentence or in brackets, depending on they way the sentence is phrased), and you need to have a separate chapter at the very end of your piece of writing, where reference materials are listed alphabetically (sorted on the basis of the first author's surname).

However, if the OP has to write something for a Uni, an editor, a publisher, I'd suggest that he double-check what their requirements are (especially on how to write the reference section at the end), as there are several ways to cite a publication depending on various factors (e.g. number of authors, whether it's a book, a chapter in a book, an article on a journal etc.).
