I am writing a research paper for school and need help with the proper APA formatting for a few things. 1. I found an abstract on PubMed that I was going to quote. It was a long quote so I separated the quote by making it indented like it is supposed to be. Purdue OWL says to include the page number after the quote has ended. I have the page number in the citation on my reference page, but it refers to where entire article is found. I also included that it was an abstract in my citation. It looks like this:
Maragakis, L., Perencevich, E., & Cosgrove, S. (2008). Clinical and economic burden of antimicrobial resistance. [Abstract] Expert Review of Anti-infective Therapy, 6(5), 751-763. doi: 10.1586/14787210.6.5.751
Do I need to include (p. 751-763) after my long quote? Or do I need to fix my citation completely since it refers to the entire text and I just used a portion of the abstract?
2. I have another long quote in my paper and did the same formatting as listed above, however, there is no page number for this one. It is just a PDF file from the FDA. So when I was done with the quote I did not have a page number to specify. Is it okay to leave it like that without a page number?
