APA citation questions...

I'm having a few technical problem with APA citations.

1. When citing paraphrased information, do you need a citation after each sentence? Or can I put one after a series of questions?

2. Are you allowed to alter a quote--mainly for verb tense? Part of my quote is "emphasizing the importance of writing..." I would like to change "emphasizing" to "emphasizes." Is this possible?

Thanks!

You cannot change word forms in quotes. If you do, you should use square brackets [ ] around what is changed. You need to change the structure of your sentence to fit the grammar structure of the quote.
