Anything worth it

Hi, everyone. Can anyone here please explain to me why the use of "worth" sounds odd here? The dictionary seems to be supporting it, listing "deserving of/meriting" as one of its definitions.

I listen to anything worth it.

Now if we replace "worth" with "deserving of", it doesn't sound as odd, does it?

I listen to anything deserving of it.
