Any word that's similar or related to hull in any way? It maybe a hulk, especially, if it refers to a body of the shipwreck, otherwise it is the hull. (I'm a retired seaman and I don't remember other terms for "hull" (meaning the body/frame of the ship/vessel).

PS: Sometimes you can hear the term
"Onto" suggests that the waves are coming from above. I think you want "against the hull". Waves would crash onto the deck.
