Anything I can replace the word hull with?

The turbulent waves crashed onto the hull?

Any word that's similar or related to hull in any way?

Any word that's similar or related to hull in any way? It maybe a hulk, especially, if it refers to a body of the shipwreck, otherwise it is the hull. (I'm a retired seaman and I don't remember other terms for "hull" (meaning the body/frame of the ship/vessel).

  • PS: Sometimes you can hear the term "a boat shell" in the appropriate context, but it can be ambiguous.

"Onto" suggests that the waves are coming from above. I think you want "against the hull". Waves would crash onto the deck.
