Analysis: Letter from Jail

The letter from jail by Martin Luther King Jr. can gives people a very strong feeling after reading it because King uses a lot of feeling to write this letter. And King’s use of a lot of facts in his letter and make his audience believe what he says. Also king’s letter really can give his readers strong feelings, thoughts, and fears. And also after reading his letter really can gives his readers something to think about and remember it on minds

In King’s article his use of ethics to let reader agree with his writing. For example, Dr. King says “Everything was segregated, form businesses to churches to libraries. Blacks faced constant discrimination and the constant threat of violence.” It really can give his audience to think about human ethics; and let his reader to think about segregation laws is not allows in human ethics because we all are human and son of god.

In King’s article he also uses pathos to attract reader attention. For example, in paragraph fourteen King use his five-year-old son question to let reader feel sad and sympathy. “Daddy, why do white people treat colored people so mean?” After reading this letter can gives reader sympathy sense because King uses many impressive facts in his letter.

Also in the article King use almost irrefutable logical step again and again to arrive at his conclusion. For example, King says “Sometimes a law is just on its face and unjust in its application” (602). And King uses fact to support it. “For instance, I have been arrested on a charge of parading without a permit. Now, there is nothing wrong in having an ordinance which requires a permit for a parade.” (602). Last he uses logical conclusion with “But such an ordinance becomes unjust when it is used to maintain segregation and to deny citizens the First-Amendment privilege of peaceful assembly and protest" (602).” King uses this type of logical many times in his article with his conclusion, and you got no choice only agree with him.

Finally, I agree with King’s argument because King’s article really can give his audience kinds of feeling about ethics. The reason is we all are son of god, just have different colors, but we all are human; we are needed to have equal treatment. And King’s letter really can give his reader a very strong feeling and remember it in mind.
