Hello everybody, I would like an opinion about the correctness of the following sentences (whose meaning should be that a question remains unanswered).
1) I was given no answer 2) I wasn't given any answer 3) No answer was given to me 4) Any answer was or wasn't given to me?
If the first three are correct, following the same rule the fourth one should be with "wasn't", but "was" sounds better to me.
Thank you for helping, Roberto
