Any white people I've met

Hi,
I just read this:

Black people are far more racist than any white people I've met.


And I thought: what would be the difference between these two? Could someone comment on them, so that I get a rough idea of what sounds good?

No difference; both possible. Any more naturally is used with the plural, I think. Do you have any pencils?

yes, the plural is usually used, but in negative sentences and in questions. And.. that's a positive sentence.

My feeling is that using the singular makes the sentence more emphatic, but both are equally idiomatic. What do you think? Do you think one is more idiomatic than the other?

That seems like a reasonable interpretation, though the effect is subtle, in my opinion. Personally, I think I prefer the singular, but if I heard these with the plural, it would probably go unnoticed.
