Letter Writing

any tips on this letter?

Hi all,

I have been reading this site, and I already got some great info out of it. I am applying for a PR function...unfortunatly I do not have any "real" experience in PR, but I want to make a carreer move in this field. Is this letter ok?

Your help is highly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Dear Ms XYZ,

I am writing in response of your recent advertisement for an Assistant information officer, found in xxxx (name of newspaper). I have been seeking just such an opportunity as this as I am very interested in politics and economical developments and pursuing a career in PR.

I am fluent in English, French and Dutch. Additionally I speak Cantonese and I am currently learning Mandarin but I would be pleased to learn any other language if required.

I am a person who works independently and in a systematic manner. Experience and internal training at my current job have helped me to develop my telephone skills. PR is a field which interests me as I enjoy research and as I student I was editor of XXXname of newspaperXXXX, a newspaper for economics students.

Due to my personal background and previous work experience I am familiar with the Asian culture and as Hong Kong is a large trading partner of the EU, I believe this would be a great chance for me.

Enclosed you can find my resume. I hope to see you soon in a personal meeting where we can discuss this job in a more extensive way, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards,
