Any special meaning of Eddys?

Hi,

Would you tell me what this "the Eddys" refers to? It is from a book but I don't know what that means and why it suddenly appears, since Eddy is being used only in this sentence. Is there any special meaning like John?

She lives with her Mom in room 205 and we love the Eddys.

Can you give us any more context? It's a very strange sentence. Who is "she"? Who are "we"? Why are these two subjects in the same sentence?
