Any other adjective like...?

Hi! everyone.I want to know what is the difference between the below two sentences and why is the word "symbolic"(adjective) used like that in the 2nd sentence? and are there other adjectives, which can be used in the same way as "symbolic"?
1-It was the symbol of man's moral strength.
2-It was symbolic of man's moral strength.

There is no difference in meaning: they are two ways to say the same thing. There is nothing unusual in how the adjective is used: it is simply a predicate adjective. Many other adjectives can appear with complementation.
