I bought some furniture fifteen days ago, but I haven’t received them yet.
We haven’t hired any employee today, but we hired ten last week.
The earth shaked strongly last year, but it hasn’t shaked much since then.
He won’t get any punishment until he has (been) condemned.
I asked the apprentice if he knew how to operate that engine.
Although he used a lot of insecticide, he wasn’t able to finish with the ant hill.
Although he seldom ate meat, he went to a barbecue last Sunday.

Thanks for helping me! Please, why in:"I bought some furniture fifteen days ago, but I haven't received it yet." we have to use the pronoun it instead of them, once I'm not referring to "a piece of furniture", but "a set of furniture"? Also I'm using some, because of this, it doesn't indicate tha
