System engineering is a scientific method to analyze and study the components, organizational structure, information flow and control mechanism of the system in order to best meet the purpose of the system. It uses multidisciplinary organization and management technology, to make the whole system and local relations coordinated and cooperative, so as to achieve the overall optimal operation. In the traditional system engineering method, the interaction between design stages mainly depends on documents, which has poor standardization and consistency, and is prone to singularity. In the system integration stage, it mainly depends on physical prototypes, which have high cost and are time consuming. With the help of modeling and simulation (M&S), through unified modeling, the document transfer can be changed into model evolution, and the physical prototyping can be changed into virtual prototyping, so as to greatly improve the R&D efficiency of complex products, reduce costs, and improve design freedom.
