Any literary techniques?

"The run of ‘heads' is impossible, yet ROS betrays no surprise at all - he
feels none."
betrays no surprise at all- is that personification?
and
GUIL is "well alive to the oddity of it. He is not worried about the money, but
he is worried by the implications"

well alive to the oddity of it.- i know that's something.. but I can't quite figure it out!

I assume ROS is a person. It just means "He shows no surprise".

and

GUIL is" well alive to the oddity of it. He is not worried about the money, but

he is worried by the implication
