I saw The Last Samurai. It's just one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Yes, it's a great film. I liked the philosophy of the samurai, trained since childhood to battle  but in peace with their minds. I especially enjoyed the relationship the two men had: it was a common understading of different powers and a mutual interest to learn from each other's  lives and experiences. The metaphor of the flower was perfect. It was great that Tom Cruise could actually find a sense of belonging somewhere after having fought so many battles. The death of the last samurai was highly moving, he proved to be a real samurai. I liked the emperor when he said: we always have to remember who we are and where we come from. Really nice film. What did you think?
