I'll be going away for a few days at Easter. Anybody reading any interesting books? Any suggestions?

I've read these three books lately. Maybe you will like them:

1) The Good Women of China- XINRAN

"Xinran is the name of a Chinese broadcaster – and now author – who for eight years hosted a pioneering radio programme, Words on the Night Breeze, which featured the stories, voices and letters of ordinary women across China. In a society where any public discussion of private experience was tightly circumscribed, Xinran’s personal, inquiring and emotionally honest programme became also a means of releasing a desire among its listeners to communicate unexpected feelings." - A really wonderful book.

2) The Bonesetter's Daughter - Amy Tan

I am not Chinese, Maj. I am Brazilian. Reading two books about Chinese Women was just a coincidence. I haven't noticed that before...

3) The Partner - John Grisham. Sometimes I am in the mood for thrillers... In that case, I choose one of his books..

And I had the opportunity to read again last year "1984" and "Animal Farm" (George Orwell). They are great, in my opinion. They were both written in the 40's and they are so modern!!

Right now I am reading (again) "Sense and Sensibility" - Jane Austen. I've just finished "Little Women" - Louisa May Alcott..

As you can see, I am in the mood for classics right now... And I am a compulsive reader!!
