2.) Which of the following words is pronounced with a diphthong in Australian English?

3. Which of the following words contains a digraph representing a consonant sound?

I have no idea, as I don't know what these terms mean. Can anyone help me with what they mean? Then I can try figure it out.

Firstly, thanks for the links. Unfortunately I still find it hard to grasp the concept but for the question about the consonant clusters, I would predict either "night" or "flap"?

For the diphthong question, I am thinking that the answer may be "chase"?

And I have not much of an idea about the digraph question.

Well, you seem to be in Adelaide, while I am an American English speaker in Yokohama, so you should know better than I do. While I am aware that our Aussie brothers speak a kind of English, I am not adept at translating it. Nevertheless, as written:

#1 -- only 'flap' possesses a consonant cluster ('fl').
#2 -- I don't know how they abuse any of these 4 words Down Under, but in AmE,

Mister Micawber. In AmE, the 'ow' of 'shadow' has a simple [ou] sound, but that may not be the answer in AusE.
There's a more obvious answer at the beginning of that word.

'sh', 'ch', and 'th' very often represent a single sound each.
