Any grammar faux pas in these sentences?

I think faux pas is a blunder, but especially used in social contexts. I believe faux pas can be used in many contexts. So, for example, you can say that someone commits a fashion faux pas. If not, "my bad", and I should just stick to English

My first thought was to agree with MM and AS on this, but just out of idle curiosity I looked it up in a dozen online dictionaries. Merriam-Webster defined it as "Blunder, especially a social blunder". The rest (including Merriam-Webster English Learners Dictionary) defined the phrase exclusively in terms of social blunders. However, the Corpus of Web-Based Global English does list 118 matches for

It is. And you can, of course, use the term by extension in any situation, but there has to be a reason or you're just misusing the word, as our friend did here. A faux pas can be an error in any arena, but it can't be just any error, it has to be one that hurts your reputation and lowers you in the eyes
