Any difference?

Is there any difference between the two sentences below?

1) The helpers brought two mats, which were brand new, from the storeroom.

2) The helpers brought two mats from the storeroom, which were brand new.

Thanks.

Yes-- the second is very poorly constructed; only the verb number in the dependent clause saves it from total confusion. Put the clause nearer its referrent: use #1 or rephrase it as two brand-new mats . PS: I see this is your first post, Musmd-- welcome to English Forums!
