Any correction needed

Teachers, please help me with the following sentences.

- Forgive me for everything, for the love I've give to you, for the words of abuses I've yelled at you whenever I was angry. (Is this sentence correct grammatically? Is there any other better way to form this sentence without there's a change in meaning?)

- Actually, I got late, because I had gotten stuck in traffic when I was on my way here.
Or is it better to say, "Actually, I am late, because I got stuck in traffic when I was on my way here."?

Thank you.
