Any

Dear members,

Is the following sentence correct?

"I never wanted any enemy nor friends. Leave me alone. This is the soliloquy of my life."

If i use the word any, do i have to use "s" Like in the above sentence I typed any enemy and i think is wrong.

Best wishes, Trouper

Hi Trouper It's possible to say 'any enemy', but your sentence will be better balanced if you use 'any enemies'. In addition, my preference would be to use the word 'or' rather than 'nor'.
