No, I don't think it's the same. The "casing" is more important, heavier... I can't really explain, but look up the images in Google.

No, I don't think it's the same. The "casing" is more important, heavier... I can't really explain, but look up the images in Google. i think the frame might be a part of the whole casing.

The casing is the trim moldings around the window (or door) openings, interior or exterior sides. It is not part of the window (or door) unit itself:
