Hi Khoff,

I'm translating Weekend-off diet. Here's the context:

Spear the chicken on to 10 skewers, cook for 5 minutes on each side under a preheated high grill.

Maybe it means that you put skewers on the high temperature grill?

Don't grills have different shelves like ovens do, one low, one medium and one high? (It's just a wild guess!)

That was my first tought, too. It could be. I can't imagine skewers in oven. We always put them on the grill/barbecue.

In the context, I would take it to mean "a grill preheated to a high temperature."

Thanks Khoff,

I don't know what to do. Perhaps I come across it again.

Under a preheated high grill.

The 'under' is a clue here for you as Brit and US English have different meanings of grill. The under means it is the Brit style of grill (not a BBQ type) where food is put underneath a gas or electric grill. High grill means high temperature. Low and medium grill also refer to temperature.
