Hello,

What does it mean in this context:

For nearly sixty years, the country prospered, until base (military) closings, consolidations and Reagonomics trickled down, crushing the economies of Madison and Avondale.

I'm interested only in the word consolidation here.

00Yes. I'd say it's not really just for two separate businesses. It could be Ford deciding to close one factory and move its work to be done in another existing factory, ie merging the work of two factories (or offices, or subsidiaries, etc.) Or the merging of two government offices.02br
