Antonia. chiseled threat

Hello,

Can you please tell me what does it mean:

Moon had said that Wright had let himself go in prison, that the chiseled threat to his body had been replaced by soft fat, but she still saw him as she had that day. (I don't understand the phrase in blue).

And another one:

She hated Jeffrey for that, mostly because he was the only one who could suffer any impact from her hatred.

Does it mean that Jeffrey would be the only person to whom these impacts of hatred might matter?

And the third question:

I told you up front that was the deal. (right away?)

Thank you

Hi Antonia, Moon had said that Wright had let himself go in prison, that the chiseled threat to his body had been replaced by soft fat, but she still saw him as she had that day. A chiseled face or body means that you look like the work of a sculptor' chisel, which usually shows idealized fitness and perfection She hated Jeffrey for that, mostly because he was the only one who could suffer any impact from her hatred. Hi Clive,

Thank you very much.

I haven't given up cooking, I'm doing my cookbook in the morning, and the thriller in the afternoon. What a joy!

Can you please tell me how threat fits the context?

Hi,

the chiseled threat to his body had been replaced by soft fat

He had an odd look to his face = his face looked odd.

He had a softness to his voice = his voice was soft (quiet, gentle).

He had a threat to his body = his body looked threatening, dangerous. The meaning is that his chiseled fitness, which had made his body loo
