Antonia butter bean

Is butterbean the same as white bean?

Thanks

(It'white and it's bean.)

A butter bean is white (well sort of creamy) and a bean but there are other white beans, like haricot beans? Butter beans are big though and very kidney shaped. They are also quite flattened (if that makes sense) whereas most beans are fairly round in cross section.

  • If you soak them the skin comes off and they split into two halves.

I think a butter bean is shaped like a lima bean, but bigger and white.

Hello,

My butter bean is used in a recipe for frittata. I don't think they use butter bean (haricots) but butter bean (pods) for a fritatta. Don't you think? I don't know if the skin you are referring to is skin of a haricot or pod.
