Both aversion and antipathy seem to be less dependent on the will, and have their origin in the temperament or natural taste, which springs from causes that are not always visible. Antipathy is a natural aversion opposed to sympathy; aversion is opposed to attachment. People of a quiet temper have an aversion to disputing or argumentation; those of a gloomy temper have an aversion to society.
