Thanks CJ. Now I don't know their categories. The locative there is an adverb, and what about the existential there?

Here's the explanation. Only a noun or pronoun can undergo subject-verb inversion to make a question.

He is a carpenter. / Is he a carpenter?
There is a man at the door. / Is there a man at the door?

Adverbs can't do that.
