An/The old woman...

We're on a plane.

1) An/The old woman seated next to him smiles at him and says...

2) An/The old woman who's seated next to him smiles at him and says...

3) An/The old woman in the seat next to him/his smiles at him and says...

If the old woman hasn't been introduced in my story before this sentence, how would you write the sentence? (I'm picturing that he only has one seat next to him, which is where the old woman sits - if it changes anything.)
