Answer to the question : Would you mind ~?

Do you use the expression “Don’t mention it” to answer to the above question? I think it’s awkward, but my fellows insist it seems possible. So I want to hear the opinions from native speakers.

Bob: No, go ahead and open it.

Or

Bob: Yes, please don't open it.
