Another Word for "Found"

If my sentence goes something like "I've always found musicals to be annoying," is there another word I can stick in there for "found?"

I don't like "I've always thought …" but that's all I can think of.

I've consulted thesauruses but it's weird they don't have anything.

I'd appreciate it if anyone knew anything.
