another several decades

StartFragment>

Moreover, some experts estimate based on fuel reserve that fossil fuels are predicted to run out within the next 40~50 years at the most. Even if their prediction turns out to be a little wrong so that the fuels can be used another several decades, the energy problems still remain unsolved.

Is there any unnatural part in these sentences especially in the purple part?

'another several' sounds just awful to my English ears...so maybe it depends on your intended readers? We'd say 'several more' or 'another few' but never 'another several'.

Then is 'another several' fair in AmE and odd in BrE? Emotion: sad

another "several decades" =another "40~50 years" in this context. So it's okay, I guess.
