Another pronunciation question--ignudi?

Apparently an Italian word, a collective term for the nude athlets on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel painted by Michelangelo. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Raen Apparently an Italian word I can confirm it's an Italian word (adjective, masculine, plural) meaning naked. This word is not part of my active vocabulary ... it's archac and literary, although it's still used in some regional dialects.

Never heard of this word before... and I have to say, if you said "Hey, look at those ignudi" I would think you were making up the word!

However, I would expect it to be pronounced ig-NEW-dee.

TanitI am looking forward to learning how it's pronounced in English
Why wouldn't it be just about the same as in Italian? een-YOO-dee (We don't have the "gn" exactly, but we can approximate it with "ny".)

I couldn't find a pronunciation. Has anyone found it?
