Another or the other?

Hi,

Please help me with this. I think the phrase to use for both of the underlined parts should be "another" instead of "the other" since a student from a group of students are asking a question to another student in another group ( and there is more than one group and isn't an one-to-one activity).

(writing game instructions for group activity dealing with a role-play based on a model dialogue)

1. Divide the class into 5 groups of five.

2. Have them mingle.3. One group asks the first model question to another/the other group to initiate the conversation.

Or how about this?

(writing game instructions for a single group of six for a role-play based on a model dialogue)

1. Have them mingle.

2. A student asks the first model question to another/the other student the question in the model dialogue and initiate the conversation.

Yes, use another. If there were only two groups of students or only two students (in a single group) then "the other" would be appropriate.
