Hi again.

Unsure about the following:

"One of the main problems is/are with spelling (singular)"

"One of the main problems is/are the floods (plural)"

Not the greatest examples, I know!

'one' = singular >> is

"of the main problems" is a prepositional phrase, so the subject of these sentences is "one," which is obviously singular. Therefore, you should use "is."
