Another "is vs. are" question

Having a debate on which is correct

South Shore Wheelers is a family friendly club

or

South Shore Wheelers are a family friendly club

Since we are trying to desscribe a club, not sure if that is singular or plural. We are split down the middle on which word to use.

Thanks!!

Hi, Say 'is'. It's the name of one club. Note it would be OK to say something like 'South Shore Wheelers are friendly people' , because here you are using the term to describe each person in a group of people.
