'Another' followed by uncountable noun?

Hello, my question is whether 'another' modifies only a countable noun, like in 'another boy', 'another pair of shoes', but no 'another news'. Thank you for your attention.

Top answer

I'd say the noun must be countable. When you say "a glass of wine," wine is not countable, but you may say "another wine," meaning another vintage, or brand. )

Thanks.

But CB is not a native speaker. I myself never use ANOTHER LOCAL NEWS.

The other day watching a news report I heard the American woman say ANOTHER LOCAL NEWS, I thought it was due to my poor listening problem, but today I heard it again: ANOTHER LOCAL NEWS, so I thought I should ask a teacher.

At the same time, adjectives in English grammar have functions that ca

Hi. I think my question is somewhat related to the topic on hand. Please tell me if it is correct to have a countable noun like "pencil" preceded by the phrase "a piece of," as in "a piece of pencil" without an indefinite article before the countable noun "pencil." Thank you for your help in advance.

Does that mean that, despite CB's impressive record of helpful and accurate answers, you no longer wish their assistance?
