Can "another" be plural?

No. It has 'an'. It's 'an' + 'other'. 'an' means 'one'.

There is no plural. We use 'more' or 'some more' for that.

I would like another piece of cake.
I would like (some) more cake.
I need another pen.
I need (some) more pens.
