Hello,

1. I have one sister in Nepal and another in Australia.

Does the sentence indicate that the speaker/writer has two sisters?

2. My one brother is in Japan and the other is in USA.

The (2) suggests that the speaker has only two brothers.

Can we use another for two things like (2)?

Other is also - used to refer to a person or thing that is different or distinct from one already mentioned or known

These are the definitions of "other" and "another" that convey the same meaning.
It becomes difficult to make decision based on these definitions.

Could anyone here explain it clearly?
