announcing a specific date

Dear Members,
I would like to ask you question on how to write a formal letter. Suppose you want to extend someone an invitation in order to attend a conference and you must specify the dates when the conferencce will be held. Would you consider correct the following sentence?

Dear Professor XYZ,
in the days 5th and 6th July 2008, the 30th Workshop "Title of the workshop" will be held at the University of ZZZ.

Thanks for the help and the clarifications.
