Hi, please help me correct the below sentences if there any mistakes, thank you.

  1. Chuuta and the others are given the mission to protect the top scientist, Dr. Love. However, when they reach him, they are shocked by what they see.
  2. Chuuta and the others encounter a mysterious young man. However, his actions and words shock the rest as he turns out to be Dr. Love himself.

The English is grammatically correct. The definite articles in "the mission" and "the top scientist" need to be justified by a prior context. I'm not totally certain who "the rest" refers to, or why it does not just say "them".
