Dear Friend,
we are in preparing of frame by frame animation about small funny characters - small man living in u-boat, traveling around the world and stucking in different stories. Curious to know, how on English this small man better to name and it sound ok on English. Present ideas: uboatsman, uboater. will be appreciate, if you could advice me something

The normal English word for someone who lives / works on a submarine is 'submariner'; I suppose that by analogy, I might prefer 'u-boater', then.
