Anger at? anger on?

"I watched him with a smile on my face, not able to place any anger at him in any other way."

should that 'at' be 'on'?

the whole last part of your sentence is confusing. We don't 'place' anger. The 'in any other way' suggests to me that you are showing anger by smiling, which doesn't make much sense.
