And you're upset [because]?

A: I got a job.
B: And you're upset because?
A; Because I have to get up early now.

I'd like to know if I can rephrase "you're upset because?" as "you're upset, because?"
Thank you in advance for your help.

You can. But I wouldn't, just as I wouldn't rephrase I'm upset because you are unkind. as I'm upset , because you are unkind.

  • You can.
  • But I wouldn't, just as I wouldn't rephrase I'm upset because you are unkind.
  • as I'm upset , because you are unkind.
  • The focus is on the reason, and the comma weakens that focus.
