And (unrelated clauses)

Hi,

I know that we can't use "and" to link 2 unrelated clauses.
Wrong Example:
For instance, I was responsible for replying to emails when I was a clerk, and l received 70 marks for a project about company shares in the first year of my BSc. (WRONG)

Question:
Am I use "and" correctly in my sentences?
Ie, are the clauses in the following sentence related?

Sentence1:
My resume is attached, and I want to meet you for an interview.
Sentence2:
My resume is attached, and I want to bulid a long-term career with your company.

Thanks

Yes, those are close enough. Much depends on surrounding text and sentence flow, though. A sentence like 'My dog died and it's raining in Chile' is not impossible, but it would require some context to make sense of it.
